FAQs, Beads and Me

After my statement yesterday at the sidebar to the subject above I got some mails with suggestions how I could do better. First I want to thank you about so many ideas which shows me in one point how much interested you are and I count this as a very big compliment. The next point is that I got many different suggestions what shows me too, no matter which way I use, some of you will stay disappointed. Truly not my focus though a little bit more about “why I do what I do in the way I do”

Uploading Times

In the past I’ve uploaded at different times during the weekly days and got so many suggestions to change that about many of your private reasons, like working at your job and more.

I changed to the weekend which was previously reserved for my family. I choose therefore a time which is comfortable for my family and start mostly the upload after my work for the family is done. I’m sorry that this is about the time difference not very comfortable for you, but as you can see from my past experiences, no matter what I decide to do, I can’t do it right for everyone.

To the sales

There are a few reasons why I do not regulate a minimum or maximum order. I myself hate to buy several items for only one that I really want. Another point of view is that some can do “bulk purchases” and some not and fairly new buyers like to test with the first order the quality with one or two sets.

Also I don’t want to limit interested customers and I’m sure you’ll never find a limited purchase at any shop. What would you do if there is one person admiring your creations and want to take them all at once? Will you say “NO” you can get only one necklace. Surely not.

Quantity of beads

I can say that I’m nearly at the limit what I can work out monthly. To give each one a chance of only one bead set I have to work round the clock as there are more interested as I ever have bead sets. I saw this sentence at another bead-seller website and transferred it to my place “I’m a ONE-WOMAN-SHOW” and I still want to enjoy and love what I do.

It is a lot of work to do beads in a good quality; I gave you before short information about the work process. After they are finished I have to take photos and work the photos out for the blog. Count how many I did for the last upload. I have to pack each set in ziplock and number and price it. I forgot that I string them all previously. The upload to the blog also takes several hours. After your choice and purchases I have to organize the payment, packaging and shipment. The entire organisation takes me nearly a week and in this time I won’t be able to do any bead. Also my husband misses warm meals at my sale-days. ;-)

At least let me say again, however I turn round and round, it stays what it is as a

“one-woman-show”!

Well said Karin. I totally understand where you're coming from and I have to admire your courage in turning down some requests but you are a ONE WOMAN SHOW. You carry on doing what makes you happy because at the end of the day this is your hobby and you should not be stressed out about it. I am sure you want to please all of us but if pleasing everybody makes you stressed out/unhappy then I suggest you do what is comfortable for you. Not worth the stress on yourself or your family. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Belinda, I appreciate much that you understand why I gave this statement. I do really love to make beads, you know that, and if I could, I would do it from morning to night. But there are some duties for the family too which I have to recognize and also I want to stay on quality at my beads.
